1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
The key thing here is forms and conventions so the first thing to do is identify the forms and conventions (AKA 'key ingredients' or things which are common to all/most examples) of music videos of your chosen genre. Then discuss which you have used, and WHY, and any which you feel you have developed or challenged (i.e. gone against).
2. How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
This essentially means how well do your video and digipak/poster work together. Remember the purpose of the whole project was to promote a band/artist and their single/album so how well do your products achieve this? Do they present a unified and recogniseable 'image'? Would they appeal to your target audience?
3. What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Here you can write about the feedback you got during initial crit screenings and how you acted upon that as well as feedback that you have received on your final video and digipak/posters. All videos are now on YouTube so check for comments and encourage your family/friends/tutors/tutor groups to watch and comment on your videos. Try to get constructive, inightful comments - you may have to probe people for these! Ask your audience what they think of your video's concept, performance, cinematography, editing etc as well as what image they think it creates for your act. Get them to do some textual analysis for you!
4. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Consider your use of the following:
- Internet (youtube, blogger, google, wordl, bubbl.us, glogster, music downloading...)
- Music technology (MP3.
- Video editing software (i~Movie, Final Cut Pro)
- Photo editing software (Photoshop, photo scanning, any others)
- Mobile phone technology (using phones to play song to get lip syncing right?)
